The Budding Tree

About 20% of known pregnancies end up in miscarriages. 35% of women who experience miscarriage end up in depression within two weeks of their loss. Yet we still whisper about the issue. The Budding Tree is a book that encourages vulnerability. Through the main character Awiti, the book speaks about the pain of miscarriages through the eyes of a modern woman and a traditional African Woman. It also speaks about the role men play in the lives of such women. The book promotes awareness and eradication of related stigmas.

I love books that are Good, Inspiring and that I can finish on a flight or in one sitting. This book was everything I imagined. This story is inspiring to the all readers. No matter your gender, occupation or economic status. It’s uplifting to all, especially woman, however, being close to someone who experienced some of the same situations as the author, I felt very associated with this book. Thank you Aswani for an outstanding work of art “The Budding Tree”.
